TWO-GOAL hero Kane Ritchie-Hosler revelled in his star display on Friday night and said it was a huge boost for a tough season so far.

The Dunfermline winger netted a brace, as well as providing the assist for Matty Todd's opener, in the 3-1 win over Championship leaders Dundee United on Friday night.

Ritchie-Hosler's double were his first goals of the season - and since April, on the day Pars lifted the League One trophy against Clyde - which has seen him undergo operations on three separate injuries.

"I’m buzzing. After what I’ve been through this season, it’s massive for me and hopefully for my confidence as well," he said.

"It is huge for the team as well, a big three points and hopefully a step in the right direction after last week as well.

The boys back to front were brilliant you could see it right through the team. It was a great performance. I think you could see it early on, particularly the way we pressed early on. You could see from the intensity that we were really up for it. Getting the goal early got the fans up."

Ritchie-Hosler, who hailed team-mate Alex Jakubiak, who provided the pass for his second and Dunfermline's third, as "brilliant", and added: "He was brilliant holding the ball up.

"He is massive and the defenders struggled with him all night to be honest. It was a great performance from him.

"It is one thing that I want to add to my game is more goals and getting up the pitch, so I’m happy with them."
