MATCHES involving West Fife teams in the East of Scotland League this afternoon have been postponed.

Heavy rainfall has caused games involving Crossgates Primrose, Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts and Oakley United to be called off, the clubs have announced.

Primrose had been due to host Haddington Athletic in the Premier Division, with Swifts visiting Sauchie, whilst First Division Oakley had been set to welcome Whitburn.

However, both encounters have fallen victim to the weather, with Primrose posting on social media last night: "Unfortunately, given the recent torrential rain across the country, tomorrow’s game against Haddington Athletic has fallen foul of the weather."

Oakley noted: "Unfortunately due to the bad weather tomorrow's match against Whitburn Junior Football Club has been called off."

This morning, Swifts' trip to Sauchie also fell victim to the weather conditions and has been called off.

Hill of Beath Hawthorn also saw their home game with Penicuik Athletic called off due to a waterlogged pitch, whilst Lochore Welfare's game at home to Preston Athletic is also off.

Dundonald Bluebell, who are scheduled to play at Crossgates on Tuesday evening, are due to visit Hutchison Vale.
