Kelty Hearts winger Stefan McCluskey said they will "go again" next season but vowed to make every effort to complete the season with three points at Hamilton.

Fresh from defeat at the hands of Montrose, which saw Saturday's visitors claim the final play off spot, McCluskey was frustrated with the final home game of the season.

"It was just a wee bit gutting," he said. "I don’t think 2-0 reflected the game. I thought we were the better team without creating many chances. On another day, I think we would have beaten them but they got the two goals and we didn’t.

"It could have been us (securing the play-off spot) so it is a bit gutting especially when you hear the other result went our way, but we just need to try and get there next year."

Kelty had needed to beat Montrose while see Cove Rangers defeated to still have a play-off chance going into next week's game in Lanarkshire.

Returning to his roots, McCluskey is keen to ensure he and his teammates finish off the season with a positive result.

"We want to win," he added. "It is a bit frustrating today and gutting but we want to win next week. Every game the manager says we are going out to win.

"We have done really well over there. I am from Hamilton so if we can get up there and get the win, it gives a wee bit of bragging rights.

"I think we play well against Hamilton because they open up against you and it gives us space."
