RESIDENTS who live in the vicinity of KDM Group East End Park are being invited to a consultation over plans for a Euro 2024 fan zone this summer.

Next Wednesday evening, organisers of the Dunfermline City Fan Zone will welcome those living nearby to hear about plans for the event, and to allow them to share their thoughts and ideas.

Over a 10-day period, from June 14-23, the home of Dunfermline Athletic will be transformed to give Scotland fans the opportunity to roar their team on at the European Championships.

Steve Clarke's side will feature in the opening game of the tournament, against hosts Germany, before taking on Switzerland and Hungary in Group A.

The fan zone will run to coincide with the Scots' fixtures, with seating for 3,000 spectators, which includes a dedicated family section, available within the Norrie McCathie Stand for each screening.

Two "festival-style" LED screens are to be positioned on either side of the pitch, whilst there will also be a stage providing other forms of entertainment, including interviews, bands and DJs.

It is anticipated fans attending can also take advantage of food trucks and stalls, a licenced bar and other activities and entertainment, whilst Stagecoach are also offering free travel after linking-up with the event as its official transport partner.

As well as match screenings, organisers are aiming to put on other activities, including a food, drink and makers market, and a free community movie event.

The consultation will take place at KDM Group East End Park from 6-7pm.
