DUNFERMLINE have completed a deal to sign St Johnstone striker Chris Kane on a permanent basis.

The 29-year-old, who had a productive loan spell at KDM Group East End Park prior to the season ending, has agreed a two-year-contract.

He departs McDiarmid Park after almost 15 years in Perth, during which time he memorably helped them to win both the Scottish Cup and League Cup in 2021.

Reports earlier this week suggested that he was set to exit Craig Levein's side, who secured their Premiership survival with a final day win at Motherwell on Sunday, and link-up with the Pars once more.

Kane scored five times in 10 appearances for Athletic after agreeing a temporary switch in February, helping them move away from relegation danger and consolidate their place in the Championship.

Dunfermline Press:

Following his final appearance, a 3-3 draw at Ayr United in Dunfermline's last game of the season, Kane revealed that boss James McPake had made it known that he would like to bring him back to the club.

That has now materialised, and Kane commented: "I am delighted.

"The manager said even before we broke up (at the end of the season) that he wanted to make it happen. That helped me.

"Being at a club where the manager wants you is obviously the first thing that you want, so I'm just really excited to get started."
