DUNFERMLINE ATHLETIC WOMEN have announced the return of Gregg McSwiggan to their coaching team.

On Tuesday, the club announced on their social media channels that their former assistant manager would be coming back to the club just three months after departing.

Last December, McSwiggan arrived at the club alongside manager, Charles Dignan, after the pair left Alloa Athletic Women to join the Pars.

They led the team to a fifth place finish in the SWFL (Scottish Women's Football League) East campaign, and also reached the quarter-finals of the SWFL Plate competition, in which they were unfortunate to be knocked out in extra time by eventual winners, Linlithgow Rose.

However, in June, it was announced that McSwiggan was leaving his position due to family commitments, but the club said they were "super delighted to welcome Gregg back to the management and coaching team".

Dunfermline, who saw an SWFL League Cup tie at Alloa on Sunday called off due to their opponents competing in the Scottish Gas Women's Scottish Cup, have defeated Bayside Ladies and Linlithgow Rose in the former competition, and are into the first round of the latter.

After wins over Aberdeen FC Ladies, and Bayside, the Pars have been drawn to play Kilwinning at home on October 6.

Their SWFL Central league campaign, which also features Bayside, is scheduled to kick off on September 29 at home to Cumbernauld Colts.
