PARS centre back Rhys Breen has left the club to join Annan Athletic on loan.
This evening, Athletic announced that the 24-year-old has moved to the League One side on a temporary basis until January.
The former Rangers youth joined Dunfermline in the summer of 2021 and has made 63 appearances for the club, scoring five goals.
Those goals came during the 2022/23 campaign, in which James McPake's team won League One, and saw Breen play 34 times in all competitions.
Last season, however, he was restricted to just 14 first team outings after a campaign hit by injuries, having suffered two separate hamstring problems, as well as a knee issue.
This term, though, Breen has only played four matches - against Spartans, Livingston and Cove Rangers in the Premier Sports Cup, and against Livi in Dunfermline's Championship opener - with the first two the only games he has started.
On social media, the Pars said "All the best Rhys, who has joined Annan Athletic FC on loan", whilst the Galabankies added: "The club is delighted to announce the signing of 24 year old Rhys Breen, joining the club on loan from Dunfermline Athletic until January 2025.

"Centre back, Breen, started his career at Rangers where he came through the youth system before signing a professional contract at Ibrox.

"Whilst signed for Rangers, Rhys enjoyed loan spells at both Partick Thistle and Queen of the South in season 2020-21 before moving to American side Orange County SC.
"After spending three months in America the defender returned to Scotland to sign a permanent deal with Dunfermline Athletic in the summer 2021."
Breen, who is under contract at KDM Group East End Park until next summer, having signed a new deal following Dunfermline's League One success, could make his Annan debut in their League One trip to Kelty Hearts tomorrow.
