A Pitreavie AAC athlete has been selected to represent Great Britain and Northern Ireland at an upcoming European Championships.
Rebecca Grieve, 20, is one of 44 athletes who have been picked to go to the under-23 competition, taking place from July 17-20 in Bergen, Norway.
She is one of four Scots, or Scottish-based competitors, who have been selected, and will run in the women's 400 metres and 4x400m relay.
Rebecca, who also represents the University of New Mexico and Woodford Green Essex Ladies, is one of three female GB 400m competitors in the squad.
On social media, she said that she was "so happy" to have been picked, which comes after she won 4x400m bronze with GB at last year's World Athletics Under-20 Championship in Peru, having also won medley relay gold at the European Athletics Under-18 Championships in 2022.
Rebecca is coached by former Pitreavie hurdler, Francis Smith, who told Press Sport: "It's fantastic to see Rebecca continue her development.
"She has worked extra hard this year, with the target being GB selection.
"Her progress of relay places at under-18 and under-20 has helped her reach this individual selection for the European under-23s."
In addition to her world relay medal, Rebecca also achieved English National Championships 400m silver, and 200m gold, and 100m silver, at the scottishathletics Age Group Championships last year.
