Aberdour Shinty Club's first team were knocked out of the Macaulay Cup at the quarter-final stage on Saturday.
The team hosted Premiership outfit Kyles Athletic - playing two divisions above them - at Silver Sands for a place in the last four.
The West Fifers acquitted themselves well against tough opposition, going down by the odd-goal-in-three, losing out late on.
Calum Murray gave Aberdour a 16th minute lead, which they held until four minutes before half-time, when Ethan Kerr equalised for the visitors.
The contest remained level until eight minutes from time, when Ross MacRae struck a decisive goal for Kyles, who progressed into the semi-finals.
'Dour, last month, were knocked out of the Balliemore Cup and Camanachd Cup competitions, by Lovat and Beauly respectively, but won and drew their last two Mowi South Division One fixtures, against Glasgow Mid Argyll and Ballachulish.
They sit third in the standings, with eight points from six matches, and return to action on Saturday June 27 against Ardnamurchan at Silver Sands.
Aberdour's seconds, however, suffered a tough outing on Saturday, losing 8-1 at home to Uddingston in Mowi South Division Two.
Since winning 4-3 at Tayforth last month, they've been knocked out of the Bullough Cup, by Bute, and lost a league fixture at home to Kilmory.
In their latest outing, four goals from Lee Thompson, and one from Dean Quinn, saw them trail by five goals at the interval.
Although Adam McVay netted in the second half for 'Dour, Uddingston added three more, thanks to a Zak Ritchie brace, and one from Gavin MacLeod.
The Silver Sands side are sixth in the seven-team standings, with three points from eight fixtures, and host Bute this Saturday at 1.30pm.
Aberdour Ladies, meanwhile, are second in the WCA (Women's Camanachd Association) National League.
They drew their latest match on Sunday against Badenoch, sharing six goals, with Rebecca Thorington scoring twice, and Katie Booth netting the other.
That came on the back of a 9-0 WCA Mowi Challenge Cup quarter-final success over Strathspey, and home league victory against Inveraray by the same scoreline.
This Sunday, they head to Strathglass in the league, aiming to add to their current seven-point haul from as many matches.
