Keith Bray has praised two of his Pars pals for making his role in the team easier - and earmarked one as having the "x-factor".
The 20-year-old played in an advanced midfield role against Raith Rovers, featuring for 69 minutes of Friday's derby victory, before making way for club captain, Charlie Gilmour.
Former Inverness Caledonian Thistle star Bray relished a position he feels suits his game, and said that Alfons Amade, and Allan Oyirwoth, played their part in it.
"When you've got two amazing players like Allan and Alfons in there with you, it makes it really easy at times," he explained.
"Alfons has always shown how much of a quality player he is. When he's on it, he's really good.
"He gets the ball and he gets us playing, which is what you need.
"Then Allan's brought a slightly different dimension to Alfons. He's kind of similar to me in terms of he loves running forward - although he's a lot stronger than me!
"I think we just bring a wee bit of energy to the side, and something different for the management staff to think of.
"I've really enjoyed playing with Allan, and he's a really strong player. He's got that x-factor in him that you can come and pull him out of nowhere."
When asked if he felt like he had shown what he could do within the set up deployed by manager, Neil Lennon, Bray replied: "I feel like I'm showing glimpses and I just need to carry on showing that and I need to show it more consistently.
"Hopefully, from that, I'll cement a place in the team.
"I feel like this formation suits me, playing with two pivots and a six behind them. I'm really enjoying it at the minute.
"In that eight position, it's really important to make the box and make stuff happen. That's what I need to do.
"I need to add that to my game here at Dunfermline. I need to add goals to my game and it will come. It will come with games.
"The gaffer's just been saying 'get in the right areas and the goals will come'.
"I've always felt that in an eight position is where I'll be when I'm older. I didn't really know where I'm at at the minute. I feel like I've experimented in every single position on the park.
"I'm really comfortable in there and I like playing in there.
"I've had to be patient and you have to be that as a footballer. I've just got to fully trust the management staff.
"Where they play me right now, I really do find it quite comfortable there.
"I've just got to fully trust them on their plans."
Bray, meanwhile, savoured Athletic's first win of the Championship season on Friday, which they'll look to build on at Arbroath, on Saturday.
"I think we needed that, really needed that after the first two games," he added.
"I think we played really well against Livi, the performance was there.
"You can have good performances, but if you're not getting the three points then it's kind of all for nothing.
"I think that three points is really important and hopefully we can go on a wee run now."
