A MOVE which is geared to securing the future of cricket at Dunfermline's McKane Park has been completed.

At the recent Dunfermline Cricket Club AGM, president Nancy Gibson welcomed Dunfermline Wanderers CC members to McKane to rejoin the club in order to consolidate the first and second teams. Both clubs were unable to field full teams on some of the weekends of last season and therefore it seemed the right time for the Wanderers to return to McKane Park.

Nancy Gibson was re-elected as president of the club and Neil Westgarth as vice president.

The first XI captain elected at the meeting was Azhar Sharif and second XI captain appointed was Neil Westgarth.

Treasurer for 2013 is Steve Lee and social conveners are Ashleigh Hitz and Cedrene Botha and the website manager is Jim Botha. Other committee members elected were Douglas Rennie, Alan Coles, Mary Bruce, Rory Cooper and Sean Hitz.

Nancy Gibson told Press Sport, "It is good to see many former club members back at McKane and we are looking forward to the new season with confidence." Neil Westgarth, the former Wanderers skipper commented, "It is a new era and we are gearing up to making an impact in the East League this coming season."
