THEY'RE proving a hit on the pitch and now the Pars are a hit off it after teaming up with a West Fife family charity.

Voluntary organisation Home-Start (Dunfermline) is one of 33 schemes across Scotland that provide support to families with a child or children aged five years and under in the West Fife area experiencing a wide range of difficulties including in mental health, disability or illness, family breakdown or relationship difficulties, lone parents and domestic abuse.

They offer one-to-one personalised support for parents and reach out to families at risk of social exclusion and the football club, riding high in the Championship, are playing their part by offering free season tickets to Home-Start families.

Joyce Munro, scheme manager from Home-Start (Dunfermline), said: "Home-Start Dunfermline has been supporting young families in Dunfermline and West Fife for almost 27 years. Our roots are based firmly in this local community and we are passionate about helping parents to give their children the best possible start in life.

"We are delighted to have the support of DAFC, I have seen first-hand how committed the Football Club is to including the local community. We are excited to begin this new partnership."

Dunfermline Athletic general manager Michael Mlotkiewicz aded: "As a Club we are committed to doing all we can to help charities and worthy causes, particularly in our home town, we were delighted to hear about Home-Starts and how they help our local community.
