A DUNFERMLINE MP has visited a new state-of-the-art fitness class in the city.

Douglas Chapman visited Bannatyne Health Club on the outskirts of Dunfermline to find out about their prestigious new studio class, Les Mills Ceremony Class.

Mr Chapman, who was impressed with what he saw at the visit, said: “I wish the Club every success and congratulations for being selected as the first in the UK to host this Les Mills Ceremony Class, putting Scotland firmly on the global fitness map alongside only two other countries where it has been rolled out so far, New Zealand and Slovenia.

"It’s a real feather in their cap, and the equipment and lay out of this new class is state of the art fitness in action."

The health club is the very first in the UK to introduce the Les Mills Ceremony Class, and has been huge for the club in terms of investment in the new studio and training for staff.

The course is a functional training resistance-based workout focused on full-body strength, cardio and conditioning.

It uses a range of equipment stations and incorporates explosive exercises, balance and coordination drills, and whole-body flow-based movement.

Mr Chapman added: “I was very impressed with the focus on well-being in the round at Bannatynes, in terms of the range of physical fitness options and support but also as a place to meet and make new friends or relax in the sauna area or spa.

"The staff’s well-being also seems to be an important feature with regular training and career development opportunities, making for a positive and friendly atmosphere at the Club.

“A big thank you to General Manager, Fiona McNorton and Personal Trainer, Vicki Baillie who showed me around the club and let me try out some of the new Ceremony class equipment as well as the free weights in the larger gym space.

"Next time, I’ll make sure I’m in my gym gear rather than jumper and jeans!”
