DUNFERMLINE steak restaurant Grill 48 is to close on Saturday.

In a statement issued on the restaurant's Facebook page, owner Linn Williamson said: "As of the 21st September, Grill 48 will be closing the doors for the last time.

"We have had a wonderful eight-and-a-bit years but the time has come for us as a family to move on and achieve new goals.

"Thank you to everyone for your support over the last eight years - we really do appreciate everything you have allowed us to acheieve.

"Working for yourself is not an easy choice but can be very rewarding and while we know we will never please everyone, we hope that you will join us in celebrating our achievements and understand that this has not been an easy decision for any of us.

"If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact us by email reservations@grill48.com and we will get back to you.

"Lastly, there are a few local people I personally would like to thank for all thier support. Please use local businesses - they are so important to our high street. Dunfermline Delivers, Haud Yer Wheesht, Silent Disco Tif & Kittie's Pamper Treats, Chic Pea, Kudos Bridal Dunfermline, Morgans, Sew Yarn Crafty, The Monarch Bar, Happy Earth Place, Florence and George and Clan MacKenzie."

In May, Linn visited Iceland as the chair of the Dunfermline and West Fife Local Tourism Association to find out how businesses are attracting visitors and making the country an aspirational destination.
