A THIRD member of Dunfermline's title-winning squad will leave the club this summer.

Kyle MacDonald, who featured 34 times across all competitions this season, will join Nikolay Todorov and Kevin O'Hara in departing KDM Group East End Park as the Pars begin to plan for life in the Championship.

The full-back, who arrived from Airdrieonians in January 2021, will not be offered a new contract to stay with the club, with his existing deal coming to an end at the end of the month.

Talks are, however, taking place with goalkeeper, Deniz Mehmet, and defender, Aaron Comrie, over new contracts.

On Saturday evening, following the team's final day victory at Alloa Athletic, forwards Todorov and O'Hara confirmed on social media that they would be leaving Dunfermline, which the club themselves confirmed yesterday (Sunday) evening.

Within that update, they also announced the departure of MacDonald, and said: "Kyle MacDonald, Kevin O`Hara and Nikolay Todorov will be leaving us upon the end of their contracts.

"Kyle MacDonald joined from Airdrieonians in January 2021 just days after his 21st birthday. Kyle made 53 appearances, including 17 off the bench. He scored two goals, one at Arbroath in the SPFL Trust Trophy and the other against Partick Thistle in the League Cup.

"Kevin O’Hara was signed by Stevie Crawford in July 2020 and leaves just three short of 100 games for the Pars. Kevin scored 23 goals for Dunfermline in his 76 starts and 21 appearances off the bench. His first career hat-trick came in second half of the 4-1 win over his former club, Alloa Athletic in October 2020.

"Nikolay Todorov was signed by Peter Grant in June 2021. Nikolay scored 17 times for Dunfermline during his two seasons with the club. The imposing striker made 63 appearances, 35 from the bench and scored important goals this season against Kelty Hearts, Airdrieonians and Queen of the South.

"We would like to put on record our gratitude for the efforts of Kyle, Kevin and Nikolay, each of them have played a significant part in this positive campaign and have been great team mates in this title winning side. They all leave the club with our best wishes.

"The club continues to be in dialogue with Aaron Comrie and Deniz Mehmet and will provide further updates in due course."

MacDonald made his final appearance for the Pars at the Indodrill Stadium on Saturday as the champions rounded off their campaign with a 2-0 victory at Alloa Athletic.
