THE first ever Fife Food and Drink Week has been announced.

Set up to highlight and celebrate the wonderful producers and businesses in the Kingdom, the inaugural event will take place in March 2024.

Fiona Richmond, head of Regional Food, Scotland Food & Drink, said: "Fife is one of Scotland’s foremost food-producing regions and Fife Food and Drink Week is an excellent occasion to celebrate the best produce that the Kingdom has to offer."

For nine days from March 9-17, Fife Council are encouraging businesses, visitors and locals to highlight all that’s great about food and drink in the Kingdom.

Events will focus on the stories behind locally grown and sourced produce, showcasing it at restaurants, cafes, bars and unique venues throughout Fife.

Businesses are being encouraged to offer exclusive events such as tastings, dinners and workshops that celebrate the authenticity, regionality and provenance of what we put on the dinner table.

Fiona continued: "We’d love to see the people of Fife really get behind their local producers and support this initiative."

Cllr Altany Craik, spokesperson for finance, economy and strategic planning, added: "Fife Food and Drink Week is a great opportunity for businesses to reach new and regular customers and offer something a little different.

"We want to help create a buzz around Fife’s food and drink and get people out and about enjoying it!"

Businesses are encouraged to organise their own events including ticket sales and add a free listing on www.welcometofife.com.
