Townhill Primary School held their Christmas fayre on Saturday, December 2, and they had a very special guest make an appearance.
Over 100 children were lucky enough to meet Santa and his merry elves. The event was the first of its kind since the COVID-19 pandemic and the fayre was supported by numerous local businesses and organisations.
Jilly Murray, deputy headteacher of Townhill Primary School, said: “We are delighted that our Christmas Fayre this year was so widely supported. Thanks to the pupils, parents and members of the local community, we have managed to raise just over an astonishing £4,000.
These funds will be going directly back to our pupils and will enhance and complement the learning experiences that currently take place inside the classroom. The cost-of-living crisis continues to affect many families, and so these funds will help us to ensure that all pupils have equitable experiences.”
Some of the local businesses who donated included Lochwood Designs, Glendale Lodge care home, Amazon, and Taylor Wimpey.

Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said: “It is incredibly important to us to support the local community surrounding our developments, and we’re very proud to support Townhill Primary School with this £500 donation.”
