FIFE Council has revealed its closure schedule for the festive period.

Most services will be closed December 25, 26 and 27 as well as on January 1, 2 and 3.

During these days, out of hours support is still available with anyone needing emergency support from social work, emergency housing repairs or urgent information relating to a birth, death or marriage asked to call 03451 55 00 99.

Recycling Centres will be closed December 25 and 26 and January 1 and 2 and there are no bin collections on Christmas Day and Boxing Day or on New Year's Day and January 2.

Bins due to be emptied on these dates will be emptied on December 23 and December 24 and on December 30 and 31 Dec.

Householders are asked to ensure their bin is out for 6am for collection with more information available at www.fife.gov.uk/bincollections.

Commercial waste bins due to be emptied on December 25 and 26 will be emptied over the following two days. Similarly, commercial bins due to be emptied on January 1 and 2 will be emptied on January 3 and 4.

There are no special uplifts from Friday, December 22 until they restart on Monday, January 8. You can recycle your real Christmas tree for free, by cutting it up and putting it in your brown bin or placing beside your brown bin in lengths no longer than six feet.
