THERE are plans for a new takeaway at Pittsburgh Retail Park in Halbeath.

It's already home to Burger King, Costa and Greggs and an application has been submitted for one of the empty units.

It's designated for retail use and Mr Kwok Wai Lau, of Dalgety Bay, is seeking consent from Fife Council to change it for food and drink purposes.

If approved, he'll also carry out alterations and an internal fit-out.

The plans for Burger King and Costa, on land between Main Street and the A907 dual carriageway, were first revealed in the Press in March 2020.

Previously home to the former Halbeath filling station, the site was used as a car wash and valet business, as well as woodland and an area for storing containers, before it was turned into a new retail park.

It's also next to the site of the old Hotel Roma, which became derelict and was eventually flattened, allowing Stephens to open a drive-thru there last month.
