THE father of toddler Madison Horn has passed away almost 10 years after his little girl was murdered.

Thomas Haldane - affectionately known as Dude - died at his home in Lochore at the age of 32.

Little Madison was just two-year-old when she was brutally killed at her home in Kelty on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014, by her mum's evil boyfriend, Kevin Park.

A post on the Benarty Funeral Directors page said: "It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of a well known and much loved Lochore man, Thomas Dwanye Haldane, known affectionately as Dude, who passed away peacefully at home on Friday February 9, aged 32 years.

"Dude was a much loved dad of the late Madison, a dearly loved son of Tam and Alexis, also a very much loved brother, brother in law, uncle, great uncle and very good friend to all who knew him.

"Dude's funeral service will take place at Kirkcaldy Crematorium on a day and time still to be confirmed.

"Funeral details will be posted as soon as they become known.

"Please show the family some support at this difficult time and feel free to share this announcement."

Friends and family have paid tribute and shared their grief at his death.

In November 2014 Park, the then boyfriend of Madison's mother, was sentenced to life imprisonment with a punishment part of 22 years for a murder described as "wicked beyond all imagining".

He was babysitting when he launched the attack on the defenceless little girl, who suffered 65 separate injuries including a fractured skull, internal bleeding and tearing to her liver.

At sentencing, the judge had told the 27-year-old killer: “In reality, no sentence I can impose can truly reflect the sheer awfulness of what you have done.”

An independent significant case review later stated that Madison's death "could not have been anticipated".
