A Dunfermline-based business is revving up for its 20th birthday by offering two local organisations the chance of a cash boost.

D&G Autocare will turn 20 on April 1 when it will pick two winners of a £200 prize.

Customers can visit the firm's Facebook page and nominate a potential winner – it could be a local football team, dance academy, music group or charity.

The lucky winners will then be randomly selected with the person who nominated them also bagging themselves a free car service.

Operations Manager Pete Wood was pleased to do something for the local communities they serve to mark the occasion.

"We are asking people to vote for their club or association or group or band and nominate them then we will do a random draw," he explained.

"The company opened its first branch in Rumblingwell on April 1, 2004 and since then, we have been serving the public and doing the best we can for keeping cars on the road through some of the hardest times.

"We started off with one branch and have always tried to do is be the friendly garage and serve the local community.

"We have expanded – we have now got 17 branches and we are about to open our first in the north of England in Carlisle. If it had not been for covid, we would have had 20 branches by our 20th birthday.

"We have got a great apprenticeship programme in place and we are really making use of young workers who want to join the trade and become professional technicians.

"We have people from the communities working in the branches, it is a community based company."
