THE long-awaited official opening of a revamped West Fife play park is to take place later this month.
The grand opening of the refurbished Hillend Play Park will be held on Saturday, May 25 which will see an appearance from Sammy the Tammy and the Hillend Hound.
The event comes after four local mums swung into action back in October 2018 to begin fundraising for a new facility as they felt the existing park was dangerous and not fit for purpose.

Since then, they have raised over £120,000 which has allowed them to create a specially designed play area for local kids to enjoy.
The refurbished facility will have a toddler area with a climbing frame, slide, swings and a train while an area for older ones will feature climbing bars, a trim trail, swings as well as a short zip slide.
