KELTY HEARTS player / manager Michael Tidser is confident of bringing in new faces "over the next week or two" to bolster his squad.

The New Central Park outfit have, so far this month, brought in Hibernian midfielder Reuben McAllister on loan until the end of the season, as well as securing extensions to Lewis O'Donnell and Alfie Bavidge's temporary moves from Dundee United and Aberdeen respectively.

Central defender, and community club graduate, Scott Cameron, has left join East of Scotland League, Division Two Bo'ness Athletic, who have also extended Finlay Shearer's loan until the end of the season, whilst Jordan Hunter has moved to Lowland League Gala Fairydean Rovers on a temporary basis until the end of the campaign.

Fergus Owens, who spent the first part of the season on loan with club from Hamilton Academical, has returned to his parent club.

Left back, Jamie Walker, was not in the squad for Saturday's draw with Annan Athletic, having been linked with a move to League of Ireland side Dundalk, and, of the potential to secure more incomings this month, Tidser said: "There's scope there to bring people in and, again, it's bringing the right people in.

"I could rush things and probably regret it. I've still got belief in the boys that are here but, obviously, I want the squad to be as competitive as it can. There'll definitely be one or two coming in over the next week or two.

"We're working behind the scenes, constantly, trying to do what's right for the club.

"I've said before and I'll say again - the club's come on leaps and bounds. I never want to stand still, I always want to keep pushing, and my standards are sky high, whether I'm playing or managing. I expect the same from the lads but they've been great for me."

Securing Bavidge, who netted his fourth goal for the club against Annan Athletic on Saturday, and O'Donnell for the rest of the season, as well as the signing of McAllister, has pleased Tidser, who has been delighted with their impact.

"I thought young Reuben McAllister was great," he continued.

"For a young lad at 17 to come in and make his debut against a team that are physical - I told him that, and I played him in the middle but off to the right, and I asked him to be clever and come into areas, because he's got a lovely left foot and can pick a pass - and the faith I showed in him, in terms of starting him, he didn't let me down. It's a great experience for him as well, and I'm sure he'll go from strength to strength.

"The boys have been brilliant and it's been a great learning curve for them. I've spoken to Aberdeen and Dundee United, and have obviously dealt with Hibs in terms of Reuben, and for these young boys to go and kick-on in their career, they need to go on loan and play.

"They're kids. I think their combined age is less than 60. It's great experience for them, but I always say you need to have a personality when you come here, show me something, show me bravery, and don't hide. To be fair to them, the three of them have been real good performers for us.

"They're young - they'll make mistakes. I'm never too critical of them; I'm probably more harsh on older players who have played more games and should have that experience."
